Biography

Dr. Miller was recruited to the 星空无限传媒 in 2023 as a professor of pharmacology & toxicology and pathology, and to serve as Co-Leader of the Discovery & Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at the 星空无限传媒Cancer Center. He leads a translational research laboratory focused on the development of improved treatment strategies for breast cancer and mechanisms of drug resistance.

Prior to joining MCW, Dr. Miller led a research laboratory at the Dartmouth Cancer Center within the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College for 11 years. He served as Co-Director of the Dartmouth Cancer Center Research Program in Cancer Signaling, Genomes, & Networks (2019-2023), Scientific Director of the Comprehensive Breast Program (2013-2023), and Professor of Molecular & Systems Biology. He also directed the PhD Program in Experimental & Molecular Medicine (2019-2020) and led the establishment of a new Cancer Biology Graduate Program (2020).

Cancer biology and mechanisms of drug resistance has been the main focus of his work for over 18 years. His data provide some of the most frequently cited evidence to support clinical development of therapeutics such as PI3K, AKT, mTOR, and CDK4/6 inhibitors, and stronger anti-estrogens for breast cancer. His expertise in translational cancer research positions him to partner with oncologists to effectively carry promising findings from experimental models to the clinic. Through scientist-clinician partnerships, they conduct early-phase clinical studies to test novel therapies and develop biomarkers.
